This lecture focuses on death scene investigation in hypothermia and hyperthermia cases, with particular attention to hiking and outdoor recreation fatalities. Participants will learn scene documentation best practices, how to interpret clothing and equipment evidence, and techniques for accessing historical weather data to support case analysis. Case studies from New Hampshire's mountains illustrate practical investigation protocols and the critical importance of environmental context in determining cause and manner of death.
